Dick Tracey

Joel Tracey, aka “Dick Tracey” aka “The Capt’n”, got his start behind the decks in 1998, playing around with a friend’s tables and old jump-up records in Washington State, where he lived while serving in the U.S. Army. Since then, he has made a name for himself in the Carolinas as one of the most fun and diverse dj’s around, playing a great blend of trend-forward edm while keeping the dancefloor in mind. Although Tracey has played a wide selection of sounds throughout the years, he has most recently carved his niche in the Charlotte scene by playing a unique mix of nu disco and groovy house. You can catch Tracey at one of his residencies at Soul Gastrolounge in the hip Plaza Midwood area, and downtown at Phoenix, where he plays several times a month at their “ID Saturdays” events, as well as throughout the Carolinas.
