This month we feature one of Greensboro’s finest on the turntables! Known for her music selection and skills, she has made a name for herself in the House music community. Her show can be heard every Saturday night on House90.1FM! Come show your support for Greensboro’s own DJ REAL! DJ REAL: Born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, Tomietta Brown initially developed an interest in DJing when attending gym jams in the early eighties at Dudley High School. From that point forward, she connected with “J-Mixx,” a local DJ who began mentoring her. They later reconnected in the early nineties and she was asked to join the radio show, the Massive House Mix on 90.1 FM as a radio personality. During this time, she began promoting parties and developing her craft. As the years passed, her pure love for music of all types has grown into the DJ Service Various Rhythms. Since creating her own professional DJ Service, she has been widely sought after to provide music for all audiences to savor. While her musical influences are many, Various Rhythms is strictly committed to playing the best in R&B, Hip-Hop, House, Old School, Reggae, Go-Go, Pop-Rock, Gospel, and Jazz music.
